Deirdre began working on these totes seven years ago as an intuitive, go-with-the-flow experiment, hand-painting rectangular cuts of a painter's drop cloth. This past year, those painted canvases were finally assembled into one-of-a-kind totes. The rugged, artistic exterior is beautifully contrasted by a pocketed interior lined with rich African prints or solid textiles.
