Is the Founder & Creative Director, Blue Olive Resort. Olivia Smashum, brings more than 20 years experience in entertainment and digital media. She served as executive vice president of marketing and product development at HBO and during her tenure led the customer relationship efforts for its 25 million members and the affiliate marketing for such iconic brands as Sex in the City, Sopranos, Cinemax, among others. As digital distribution transformed the industry, she led the product development team and extremely successful online launch of HBO Go and Max Go. Her experience in developing strategic partnerships and digital platforms, branded digital content, and her experience in launching brand extensions and managing P&L’s are invaluable in her new role as an entrepreneur and founder of the Blue Olive Resort fashion line.
Blue Olive focuses on sourcing the finest quality fabrics, a dedication to developing the perfect fit, and working with US manufacturers, she is committed to delivering a timeless collection of wardrobe basics created for ALL women.
As a woman owned business with roots in the digital economy she is also committed to developing collaborations with emerging female visual artists. It’s important to them to use their platform to provide visibility and empower young female artists globally.
By utilizing sheer and breezy fabrics and sophisticated colors, along with flirty silhouettes, this duo successfully created a collection that captures a spirit of endless summer—evoking endless possibilities through separates that transition seamlessly from day to night. Olivia also serves as a marketing and design coach for emerging designers participating in the SoHarlem Designers’ Studio.
Smashum is a graduate of Hampton University and received her MBA from Columbia University.
