GLADYS PEREZ

Gladys “Rosa” Perez

a master Ebru artist, studied this ancient Chinese paper marbling technique for more than 25 years, blending it with her own modern sensibility to create striking mirrors, tables, designer frames, and large scale pieces for commercial and residential spaces. In 2021, Rosa has focused on repurposing leather, textiles and other materials, which she refers to as “leftovers,” to create one-of-a-kind accessories and home décor designs.

Rosa regularly teaches her craft to populations with special needs at United Cerebral Palsy and Hope Community Development. She also works as a freelance artist creating large-scale Ebru installations for Architectural Digest, the Carl Gordon and Richard Smith Studios, and Sublime.

Her work has been exhibited at The Art Students League of New York, ArtExpo, Architectural Digest Expo, New York Public Library, Consulates of Argentina, Peru and Venezuela, the United Nations, Queens Borough Hall, and Hostos Community College.

Rosa attended the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, majoring in Philosophy and Arts; and Institute Cen 98, Buenos Aires where she studied social development. She studied at the Arts Students League and received a certificate from FIT in design.
