Join SoHarlem’s 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign and make a difference for the members of our community who need our help gaining the skills required to get a job. Our Creative Economy Training Institute is open to under and unemployed residents at no cost to them. Since starting the Institute during the pandemic we have had 75 graduates, with more than 50% of them finding employment or other related opportunities. Several graduates are part of our Collective, working at SoHarlem on a regular basis. The cost to train one individual in our 12-14 week program is $9,450. Participants learn the fundamentals of sewing in our fully equipped Designers’ Studio; we also provide them with a stipend to help with living expenses, along with career guidance and introductions to prospective employers in fashion and other related industries YOU can be a part of that journey, making a real difference in people’s lives, by helping us raise $25,000 in support of SoHarlem’s Training Institute which addresses the high unemployment in our neighborhood and throughout New York. Come and meet some of them in person, along with our Collective members. Make a gift of $100 or more, and you can attend the Fall 2023 graduation at our Studio and receive a 20% shopping discount for the holidays or a special gift.
