Join Debbie Quinones, a lifelong resident of East Harlem and the founder of the Friends of Harlem Art Park Alliance and the Coquito Masters Competition. She notably served on Community Planning Board 11 for 31 years, during which she was responsible for naming 20 streets in East Harlem aka El Barrio after legendary local leaders and significant events.

Debbie's tours showcase her unparalleled knowledge of her community and its rich history. She has designed a unique walk that tells the story of East Harlem today, from its historic superblocks of public housing to the impact of major historical figures. The tour revisits moments like Vito Marcantonio’s union rally on what became Harlem’s Lucky Corner on East 116th Street and explores the legacy of the Young Lords. For more information click here.

Doris "Koya" Prester, Founder of New York My Way Tours and a former Creative Entrepreneur who launched SoHarlem's Cultural Tourism Academy in 2017, will lead a tour of Manhattanville. Koya, a lifelong resident of West Harlem, will be joined by Scott Metzner, Founder of Janus Property the developer who has transformed forgotten buildings into community gems in the Manhattanville Factory District. The West Side Harlem Tour will culminate with examples of today’s Dandyism fashion presented at SoHarlem Design Studio.

During the month of September, SoHarlem's creative entrepreneurs will be part of a unique showcase of West Harlem's creative industries. In addition to artists, 26 arts organizations and 14 small businesses are participating. Presented by the West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA), offering a chance to explore the community's rich culture and vibrant commerce.
