Every holiday season SoHarlem celebrates a local artisan or designer who is reshaping fashion.

This year we feature Michael Innocent who created INNO in 2018. His imaginative outerwear with fine details are timeless pieces. To quote Michael, INNO is just the frame, you are the art.

Andre Biel - who joined the SoHarlem Collective as an Apprentice in 2019 after winning the Emerging Designer Award sponsored by Harlem Fashion Week - was notified recently that his apparel line will be shown at New York Fashion Week in February 2021.

Since joining the Collective he has continued to developed the craftmanship techniques required to develop his designs. He also established his company, IflyUniverse.

Andre began sewing ten years ago at the Henry Street Settlement with the famed teacher Ruth Taube. 

This past spring he was selected to show his first line created at SoHarlem under the mentorship of Master Tailor Henry Smith, Master Seamstress Margarita Ayala, and Designer-In-Residence Javier Valencia.
